Clinical Services & Adult-Use Cannabis Support

I Crystal Rebecca Freyer As a Behavioral Health Clinician, I provide specialized support for individuals utilizing recreational (adult-use) cannabis. In accordance with Arizona law, this is available to those 21 and older, allowing the possession of up to 1 ounce (28 grams) of marijuana, including up to 5 grams of concentrate.

My clinical support focuses on:

• Education: Offering evidence-based guidance for those accessing cannabis through licensed dispensaries.

• Integrated Wellness: Ensuring your personal choices align with your broader behavioral health recovery roadmap.

• Safety & Advocacy: Providing professional oversight to ensure safe, effective, and compliant use.

Specialized Clinical Services for Cannabis Use

• Cannabis Wellness & Harm Reduction Education:

This service provides one-on-one sessions focused on evidence-based education regarding cannabis use. We help clients understand the potential impacts on their physical and mental health, discuss safe usage parameters, and implement harm reduction strategies to minimize negative outcomes.

• Integrated Behavioral Health & Cannabis Monitoring:

For individuals choosing to use cannabis, this service ensures their usage aligns with their broader behavioral health goals. We provide ongoing clinical monitoring and periodic evaluations to help clients identify potential triggers and manage their health effectively, ensuring that personal choices do not negatively interfere with other prescribed medications or mental health wellness plans.

• Motivational Support for Usage Adjustment:

Utilizing motivational interviewing and behavioral strategies, this service helps clients explore their personal relationship with cannabis. We work collaboratively to strengthen the client's internal motivation to adjust or reduce their use if they identify that it is hindering their personal, professional, or health-related aspirations.

• Systemic Advocacy for Wellness & Fair Access:

Leveraging our expertise in administrative and legal advocacy, we assist clients in navigating the complexities of their healthcare rights. This includes support in understanding regulatory standards, navigating dispensary-related questions, and advocating for individuals to ensure they are treated with dignity and fairness within their community and healthcare systems.

Important Clinical Considerations:

• Compliance: These services are designed for educational, advocacy, and wellness-integration purposes and are provided in accordance with your professional certifications.

• Scope of Practice: It is essential to distinguish these supportive services from intensive addiction treatment; clients struggling with symptoms of severe Cannabis Use Disorder (CUD) or psychosis should be offered a combination of multidisciplinary psychosocial interventions or referred to specialized substance use treatment facilities as needed.
